Cryogenic vessels are large tanks designed to store materials at temperatures below 150 degrees fahrenheit under pressure. They can be used to safely store a variety of gases, including natural gas, oxygen and argon. CTM Europe’s key service is cryogenic tank refurbishment.

Cryogenic tank refurbishment and repair is sometimes known as re-engineering. This process involves a detailed examination, cleaning of the tank, stripping, re-painting, and the welding and fitting of all new pressure parts, gauges, manifolds and pipework.

We then complete a rigorous pressure test process, reinstate the vacuum and certify the tank as ready for filling with the appropriate gas.

CTM Europe was founded over 30 years ago to refurbish all known types of cryogenic tanks. We complete most of our work at our excellent facilities at Cardiff Docks, and are able to work on-site or off-site as required. We have successfully completed over 2000 refurbishments of cryogenic tanks.

We refurbish over 100 tanks a year to exacting BCGA and Air Products standards. CTM Europe can refurbish tanks for all industrial gases including argon, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen. We also work with specialist liquid and medium pressure hydrogen systems.
